Beginner Guide to Dominate the Auction House in World of Warcraft

I rarely used any consumables; I never bought any upgrades in the Auction House. This was what I was like when I rolled my first toon more than three years ago.

Three years later, I still see many new players struggling to make much WoW gold. I want to share a few tips that will help you guys get started. I still remember vividly my first time entering Stormwind City on my level 10 human rogue. I remember entering the Auction House for the first time, drooling over a 90g dagger when I had 14 silvers in my pocket. I was one poor rogue, but I was thinking big things, the simple idea of buying low and selling high arose in my head.

There was one predicament though, I gambled on the items that I purchased. I never knew if a profit could be made from any of the items that I bought. Surprisingly, I was still making a profit.

I made a level 1 character; I ran her to the nearest Major city and just sat her in the Auction House. I would log-on to this alt 2-3 times a day to buy/sell in the Auction House. As time went by, my brain became more familiar with the items, I was remembering item prices and I was profiting a lot faster. When my main character turned level 40, my alt had turned 30 silvers into more than 100 gold.

The majority of my purchases were items with very low deposit fees. This reduces the overall gold lost if items don't sell through the first listing. Shards and Dusts were my ideal target because they are in high demand and they require NO deposit fees.

When the add-on Auctioneer came out, it saved me so much time. I did not have to sort through pages of Auctions; the add-on automatically scans the entire Auction House and provide you with recommended list of items.

I bought a lot of items that never ended up selling. One case that I still remember til this day was the purchase of Mass of McGowan (1 year pre-BC). I remember listing this item more than 10 times and it just wouldn't sale, I just gave up eventually because the deposit fee was killing me.

There are always risks involved when bidding in the Auction House, but in order to make the big profits, there will always be some risk.

What are Discount Health Plans?

As anyone who has had to pay for health insurance recently can tell you, the cost of providing health insurance for a family of 4 has risen tremendously over the past few decades. Many small and medium size industries can no longer continue to provide their workers with expensive health insurance benefits. In recent years, employees have had to pay a larger percentage of their health insurance costs, and many businesses have terminated their health insurance benefits, altogether. Other companies have cut down on the number of full time workers hired, so that they can save the cost of providing health insurance for their employees.

Should you find yourself in the unfortunate position of working for a company that does not provide health insurance benefits, most likely you will either have to purchase an expensive major medical policy on your own or do without. Because the high cost of major medical insurance can be out of reach for many, some families will choose to go without these important benefits entirely. The cost of health insurance can take a big bite out of a middle income familys budget. These families are truly caught between. They earn too much to qualify for Medicaid and other government assistance programs, but do not earn enough to afford the high cost of health insurance. Even if an individual can afford the high price of health insurance, if a patient suffers from a chronic illness like diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, high cholesterol, or heart disease, he or she can be denied coverage. People have even been turned down for excess weight and prescription drug use. It seems like the big insurance companies are looking for reasons not to insure people, so those individuals who need it most may find themselves without any benefits.

Fortunately, discount health plans offer families a way to save money on their health care costs. But what are discount health plans, and how can they be used to help families and businesses?

Discount health plans can be used in several different ways. For those individuals or families that lack dental or health insurance, discount medical plans can be used as stand alone health programs. These discount plans provide needed savings on all medical and dental services. Consumers can even save money on medical costs not normally covered by traditional insurance such as cosmetic surgery, cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, orthodontia, Lasik eye surgery, and even alternative medicine. Unlike traditional insurance there are no limits on visits or services, no waiting periods, no age limits, and ongoing conditions are accepted.

Businesses can save money by purchasing a high deductible health savings account or hospital only plan. A discount medical plan is purchased along with the high deductible plan. These supplemental benefits provide savings on routine health expenditures while the catastrophic insurance provides a safety net for lengthy hospitalizations and complex care. By combining a high deductible plan with a discount health plan, companies can save money on their health insurance benefits while providing their valued employees with needed financial security.

The discount dental plan is probably the most popular discount health program. Statistics show that seven out of ten Americans do not have a dental plan. Among the 30% that do have dental insurance, most are underinsured. Many dental plans do not provide treatment for ongoing conditions, have expenditure limits, waiting periods, and often dont provide for even necessary procedures such as orthodontic treatment. Cosmetic dentistry and implants are usually not covered.

Discount dental plans provide the consumer with an excellent choice for saving money on dental care. These affordable dental plans are reasonably priced alternatives to expensive dental insurance plans. Savings can range from 25% for specialist treatment to 80% for exams. Most major dental procedures such as fillings, root canals, dentures, crowns and bridges, and orthodontic treatment are available through plan dentists at a 50% to 60% discount--literally cutting a familys dental bill in half. In addition, patients with pre-existing conditions can qualify for these plans, and there are no limits on visits or services. Often these affordable dental plans offer value added services such as a prescription card, discounts on eyeglasses and contact lenses, and savings on chiropractic treatment.

Many discount health programs also offer a basic health plan which provides savings on medical examinations and physician visits. Ancillary services such as laboratory tests, imaging studies (MRIs, CAT scans, mammograms), physical therapy, diabetic supplies, hearing aids, and mental health services are also provided at significant discounts. A 24/7 nurse line and wellness programs may also be included in a good discount health program. Should hospitalization become necessary, the patient will be assigned an advocate who will negotiate the hospital bill and work out a payment plan based on the patients ability to pay. Hospital bills have been drastically reduced through these advocacy programs. One company, AmeriPlan USA, has even added a prescription advocacy program. This program takes advantage of patient assistance programs available through major pharmaceutical companies. Individuals with over $90 per month of prescription expenses, who meet income eligibility requirements, may be able to receive all or most of their medications for just the cost of a small monthly service fee.

Most discount health plan companies also offer a combined medical and dental discount plan. This program combines dental, vision, prescription, and chiropractic benefits with discounts on physician visits, lab tests, ancillary services, and hospital advocacy.

When looking for a discount health plan, here are some things to consider. Look for a company that is a member of both the Consumer Health Alliance and the National Association of Dental Plans. These two organizations set strict standards for discount dental and medical programs and are your assurance of the companys integrity and reputation. Also look for a plan that offers a good choice of dentists, doctors, and other healthcare providers in your area. The company should also provide an 800 customer service number, a schedule of provider fees and services, and informational booklets and websites.

Tips For Choosing Website Hosting Company

A website hosting company is very much essential for establishing your website presence. It is not sufficient to just create a website; you need to have a domain which is provided by a website hosting company. As there are many such companies around, some thought and consideration has to be used in choosing the right website hosting company.

A very important point to consider is the amount of support the company gives you. You have to choose a web host that gives a good response to any problem you have; and in other words, has a good support system with 24/7 live chat support.

Choose website hosting companies with 99% uptime

The website hosting company has to have a minimum of 99% uptime, especially if you have a commercial website where you have to stay online continuously, without interruptions. In addition to this, the web host should have lots of web or disc space as there is always the possibility of you needing to expand your website over time.

Preferably, the website hosting company should offer you a web space of 1 GB so that you can add features and several scripts to your website if and when required. And if your web host permits you to hold multiple domains from an account, you definitely need more than 1 GB of disc space.

Choose the web host that provides you with a Cpanel hosting interface as it are easy for the beginner webmaster to use. With Cpanel, you can setup email accounts, manage files and databases and provide website hosting tools. In addition to this, Cpanel may also provide a system called Fantastico where installation of guest books, blogs and Wordpress is made simple.

Check on the security features of the web host

If you own a business website that sells products or services, you need to choose a website hosting company that has e-commerce features like Agora shopping carts. Usually web hosts provide shopping carts for free. As scripts today usually use SSIs for inclusion of data, you have to ensure that you choose the web host that supports or activates SSI for your domain.

It is important that the website hosting company is fast as slow web hosts only lead to the loss of visitors while waiting for the loading of web pages. Choose web hosts with a minimum of a T1 connection for internet carriers; though T3 connections are faster or better.

As security is an important feature of all websites, you have to choose a website hosting company that provides you with sufficient security. It should have important security services like firewalls for protection from hackers.

Check on the bandwidth of the website hosting company as the higher is the bandwidth, the better it is for you. If you have lots of graphics on your website, you will need a lot of monthly bandwidth so choose the host with a minimum of 20GB bandwidth.

This is an important point for choosing website hosting companies as once your website uses more than the allotted bandwidth in a month, you may end up either with a suspension of your site or a hefty fee for each GB that you use. However, be careful of website hosting companies offering 'unlimited' bandwidth as these hosts usually have their policy terms printed in fine print.

Sharepoint - How to Assign a Task

Organization, Communication and Clarity. The 3 essentials to operating effectively in a team environment. If I am a team leader and I do not keep an organized work space (literally and metaphorically) then I will not have a clue what is going on. I will always be scattered and struggling. If I do keep a clear line of communication with my team members then there will be lots of confusion and if I do not speak provide crystal clear instructions I can expect to have a lot of challenges.

So how do you incorporate these 3 principles into your daily Sharepoint life?

Surprisingly, SP has made this a very simple process. One of my favorite tools in the SP service is the "Tasks" web part. This function allows you to assign tasks to different members of your team. It provides a sectionalized format so that you can be as clear as possible in your assignment.

So how do you assign a task to a team member?

As always, I will break this down into a numbered step format to make this as simple as possible.

1. First, you will need to log into your SP account. For this operation you do NOT need to have admin rights.
2. Once you have logged into your Sharepoint account, scroll down to the web part that is entitled "Tasks".
3. Once you select the "Tasks" tab, you will be taken to a page that displays current tasks in the file. If there are no tasks it will say so. To add a new task you will want to select the tab that says "New" which will be displayed in the left center portion of the page. Then you will select "New Item".
4. The next page will be the page where you create the task.

Now, create the task!

Car Insurance on Rentals

When it comes to car insurance, there are a couple of traps you can fall into. The contracts are complicated and extremely difficult to understand, and thats if you even have the time to read them. The fact is that most people dont read insurance contracts and there is a significant information shortage when it comes to consumers and the contents of their own insurance contracts.

One of the problems with this information gap is that it can lead to wasted money. Every time you rent a car you are asked what kind of insurance you would like. The options are generally to take none, which costs nothing, or you could cover liability insurance, which should cost about $10 per day. Then you have a variety of options to cover the rental cat itself, prices for which vary from company to company and state to state. The full coverage option, which includes liability, passengers, and the rental car usually, comes to about $25 to $30 a day. Most people genuinely dont know what option they should be taking.

Liability

Liability insurance is the only insurance you are required by law to take out. All the others are optional. Thats the first and most important thing to remember when youre at the rental desk, and the total price for your two-week vacation car is quickly adding up and up. The other thing to know is that in many cases, you will be covered, to some extent by your existing car insurance. You will have to check your insurance policy to make certain, but for the vast majority of drivers, they will have liability insurance by virtue of their own car insurance, and this will carry over to the rental car.

It is however, unlikely that full or comprehensive coverage will carry over from your own car insurance. This is because comprehensive insurance is calculated based on the value of your car. Insurers dont want to be in a position where they set your policy based on your say, $15,000 vehicle, and then have to pay out when you crash a $40,000 rental. So your policy will state that only liability insurance is provided when you rent.

Credit Card Cover

You may still require no insurance from the rental company however. This is because many credit card companies, including both visa and MasterCard, offer this insurance if you pay for the rental with one of their cards. This is a major benefit of using a credit card and should not be wasted. Again you should check with your credit card provider what they cover, but the bottom line is, if your own insurance covers liability, and your credit card covers the rental car, why pay a couple of hundred dollars for extra insurance when youre already covered?

If you are in doubt as to your insurance, it is wise however to take the rental companys policy, especially liability.

It was interesting to read recent media reports in such prominent outlets as Bloomberg.com and the Wall Street Journal about the FDA's plans to set guidelines for the kinds of literature drug makers can use to support the off-label use of FDA-approved drugs. Originally, the FDA stipulated that drug manufacturers could disseminate information on unapproved, off-label uses of FDA-approved products, under Section 401 of the Food and Drug Administration Modernization Act that expired on Sept. 30, 2006. It took a while but on Feb. 15, 2008, the agency announced new guidelines under the title "Good Reprint Practices."

The whole idea is that while the FDA recognizes that off-label use is common, and indeed quite legal, drug companies need strict guidance on what they disseminate regarding those uses. Contrary to what some of those news reports suggest, the FDA is not opening the door for drug companies to promote off-label uses of drugs. Instead, it puts very precise rules and standards in place for what the companies can use as supporting evidence, such as peer-reviewed publications.

In general, the FDA approves drugs only for certain indications, and this information is contained in the FDA label for the product. However, there is nothing illegal about healthcare professionals prescribing FDA-approved drugs for non-indicated uses, such as administering an anti-epileptic drug to treat bipolar disorder, for instance. Indeed, it is estimated that around 20 percent of all drugs are prescribed for off-label uses, particularly in the psychiatric arena. However, it is illegal for manufacturers to actively promote drugs for non-indicated uses.

Limiting What Companies Can Distribute

The new guidance recommends that individuals (such as drug company representatives) who disseminate literature in support of off-label use, use only letters to the editor, publication abstracts, and reports of Phase 1 trials in healthy subjects from peer-reviewed journals with recognized editorial boards. It also allows for reference publications that contain little or no substantive discussion of the relevant investigation or data. The publications should be generally available in bookstores or other independent distribution channels where medical textbooks are sold, according to the guidelines.

The guidelines also suggest that the articles should not be edited, abridged, marked, or highlighted in any way, and that reprints or copies should be accompanied by the FDA-approved labeling and an extensive and comprehensive bibliography. The articles should not be physically attached to any promotional material by sales representatives, nor should they constitute a subject of discussion during sales presentations. Similarly, sales representatives should not distribute these reprints at conferences.

Lastly, the FDA recommends that a journal reprint or copy also should carry a prominently displayed statement disclosing the following:

The uses described in the information have not been approved or cleared by FDA, as applicable to the described drug or medical device,

The manufacturer's interest in the drug or medical device that is the subject of the journal reprint or reference text.

Any author's financial interest in the product or manufacturer.

The funding source for the study, and

Any significant risks or safety concerns the manufacturer knows about concerning the unapproved use that are not discussed in the journal article or reference text.

It Remains Illegal to Promote Off-Label Use

Finally, it should be recognized that it is illegal for a drug company to promote off-label use for a drug or device, that constitutes a "new use" for that drug or device. If such promotion is carried out, then the FDA retains legal authority to decide upon the condition of unapproved "new use" and whether the distribution of an article or publication constitutes promotion of a new use. In some cases these decisions can result in a product being deemed misbranded or adulterated under the federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act.

Given that healthcare professionals can legally prescribe drugs for off-label use, the FDA guidelines represent a significant advance in this whole area. I find it puzzling to read comments in the press and in online blogs about how this is going to open up the area of unapproved, off-label use and thereby put the public's safety as risk because the FDA is now going to completely endorse publications promoting such use. If anything, this proposal sets very strict and sensible boundaries for promoting off-label use. As Randall Lutter, an FDA deputy commissioner, said in a news release referring to the publications for off-label use, they "can contribute to the practice of medicine and may even constitute a medically recognized standard of care."

Media Fuss Side Effect

One side effect of the media fuss was that Democratic Rep. Henry Waxman of California wrote to the FDA suggesting that it rethink the guidance. He said he was worried that it would create a large loophole in the laws against off-label promotion. Actually, it tightens loopholes.

In the end, it is the doctors and healthcare practitioners who must decide on how to use a drug for a given condition. If an FDA-approved anti-epileptic drug has been shown to significantly improve a bipolar disorder in independent and peer-reviewed studies, then doctors and healthcare practitioners are the ones who are going to be in the best, and only, position to determine how best to treat the patient, on a case-by-case basis. With these guidelines in place, the promotion or advocacy of off-label use by drug-or medical device-companies is likely to be severely restricted.
